At the conclusion of their second year of training, students have an invaluable opportunity to create every aspect of an original theatre piece from start to finish with a professional director, and perform it for an intimate audience.

Relying on razor-sharp wit and lightning-fast reflexes, two teams of performers are pitted against each other in competitive improv matches. Using audience suggestions to fuel scenes, teams must create totally improvised situations on the spot.

Each TheatreSports match is overseen by a referee. More than just a whimsical host, the ref will slap the improvisers with penalties & jabs, or reward them with bonuses as he/she sees fit. And round after grueling round, the audience votes for the best scenes & the sharpest improv.

THEATRESPORTS® is high-action short form improv full of comic vengeance!

Screen Shot 2016-08-14 at 10.51.45 AMREDPATCH is a historical drama that focuses on a young Métis soldier from the Nuu-chah-nulth nation of Vancouver Island who volunteers to fight for Canada in the First World War. Set in both Canada and the battlefields of France, REDPATCH follows the experiences of this young soldier as he endures the horrors of trench warfare.

This world premiere production will coincide with the 100 year anniversary of the historical Battle of Vimy Ridge, and is a moving depiction of the contribution that First Nations soldiers made towards the Great War.

This production is generously supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, the British Columbia Arts Council, the Department of Canadian Heritage and the City of Vancouver, with additional presentation support from Presentation House Theatre.

Aeriosa’s spectacular aerial dance shows bring together the athleticism of rock climbing and the grace and artistry of dance. Using rope rigging systems, the company creates three-dimensional performances that re-interpret gravity, unlock new movement possibilities, and delight and inspire audiences. Choreographer Julia Taffe presents a program of theatre-based work and provides revealing insights into a unique dance genre.
