Chor Leoni announces Canadian Choral Composition Competition (C/4) judges

Jocelyn Morlock, Rodney Sharman, James Carter

The following is a statement from Chor Leoni Men’s Choir:

There is something incredibly exciting about breathing life into a never-sung-before score. There’s a sense that we are finding, developing, and celebrating Canadian composing talent as we create brand new works of art together.

At this point it’s impossible to choose a personal favourite, and we’re so glad we’re not in charge of determining the final rankings. That task falls to our esteemed panel of judges who we’re pleased to introduce today.

These brand new works are beautiful, powerful, lyrical, and moving, and the best part is that we get to share these discoveries with you at the Canadian Choral Composition Competition (C/4) on February 23rd.

There are tickets available for this unique opportunity to meet the composers, discover the back-story of each composition, and be the very first to hear them sung in public. We are excited to sing them for you!

“I thoroughly enjoyed this evening. It was wonderful to have the music scores, to listen to the interviews with each composer and to hear Chor Leoni sing the compositions a second time. The smaller venue and more intimate atmosphere was lovely. I’d definitely want to attend again next year.”  – Jean Swenerton

C/4 is a Community Partnership with the Canadian Music Centre and is generously supported by James and Leslie Carter, with accommodation provided by [Chor Leoni’s] hotel partner, the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre.
